求職について、目当ての会社に直接電話してみました。

A: あなたに、仕事についていくつか質問をしてもよろしいでしょうか？

B: いいえ、人事部におつなぎ致しますね。

A: May I ask you a few questions about the job?

B: No, I'll transfer you to the Personnel Department.

transfer は、「移動」を表しますが、「移す」という意味がキーですね。

電話の転送にも使えますし、道案内でも

... それから、東京行きの電車に乗り換えてください。

他にも、

銀行でのお金の転送や、

コンピュータのデータ転送や、

人事異動なんかでも聞きますね。

会社の組織名には、いろいろありますね。

広告部 Advertising Department

opening だけでも、いろいろな意味で使われますね。

開始、開口部、すき間、空き、

空きは空きでも、ここでは「仕事の空き」ですね。

freshman は、学校や組織での「新人さん」に、よく使われますね。

学校なら、

freshman ⇒（sophomore）⇒ junior ⇒ senior

の順番ですね。

形容詞で

the freshman year 第1学年

a freshman course 第1学年の課程

のようにも使えますね。

A: どの職種にご興味があるのか、お聞きしてよろしいですか？

B: シニアソフトエンジニアです。

A: Could I ask what position you are interested in?

B: I'm interested in the senior software engineer position.

position は、「位置、地位」という感じですが、

I got a position as a project manager

仕事の時には、「部署、役職、担当」をあらわせますね。
